Discoid eczema
Symptoms manifest as distinctive circular or oval patches, typically excluding the face or scalp, initially appearing as small spots or bumps that coalesce into larger patches, ranging from millimeters to centimeters in size. Initially, the patches often present as swollen, blistered, and fluid-oozing, accompanied by intense itching, especially at night. Over time, the patches may dry, develop crusts, cracks, and flakes, occasionally leaving behind discolored skin resembling ringworm. In severe cases, these patches may become infected, evidenced by excessive fluid oozing, yellow crust formation, and accompanying symptoms such as localized heat, swelling, tenderness, nausea, fever, or malaise.
