Healthy Skin

To maintain healthy skin, follow these steps:

Keep your skin clean

– Avoid using soaps, bubble baths, and shower gels.
– Use the creams prescribed by your doctor to moisturize your skin.
– If you have red inflamed areas, apply the prescribed topical steroid until it settles, then discontinue use.

Hygiene

Maintaining good hygiene is crucial for healthy skin. You may experience very dry, scaly, cracked skin, or excessive moisture. This moisture, also known as exudate, is harmful to your skin and should be removed. Bathing or showering helps eliminate dead, flaky skin that can harbor bacteria or exudate.

Do

– Use lukewarm water.
– Use a prescribed “soap substitute.”
– Pay special attention to skin creases and the areas between your toes.
– Gently pat your skin dry with a towel. Avoid rubbing, as it can increase skin heat and worsen itchiness.

Do not

– Use soap to wash your skin.
– Use hot water, as it can intensify itching.
