General Symptoms

The general symptoms of dermatitis include:

  • Itchiness
  • Redness and rash
  • Dry, cracked, or scaly skin
  • Blisters that may ooze and crust
  • Thickened skin from chronic scratching
  • Small, raised bumps

Specific Symptoms by Type

  • Atopic Dermatitis: Red, dry, bumpy, and itchy skin, often on hands, elbows, neck, knees, ankles, feet, and around the eyes.
  • Contact Dermatitis: Painful or itchy rash due to contact with allergens or irritants.
  • Seborrheic Dermatitis: Red, dry, flaky, and itchy skin on the scalp, face, and ears.
  • Perioral Dermatitis: Acne-like or rosacea-like rash around the mouth, eyes, and nose.
